On Saturday, April 11, 2026, ABC13 Eyewitness News reported that Fort Bend County Judge KP George was temporarily suspended from his position following a hearing.
The suspension stems from a formal complaint filed in July by a woman who alleges she was improperly removed from a public meeting. Judge Jeth Jones of Galveston presided over the hearing and ordered George suspended.
Daniel Wong, the Republican county judge nominee for the upcoming election, has been selected as George’s temporary replacement, according to sources. George was reportedly absent from the hearing.
This suspension is separate from George’s recent conviction on money laundering charges, which occurred less than a month prior. Following that conviction, George was seen being escorted from the courtroom in handcuffs. Despite the conviction, George resumed his duties, leading a commissioners’ court meeting.
Prosecutors had indicated their intention to request a suspension following his sentencing, which is scheduled for June.
