On Monday, December 16, 2024, Above The Law reported that Judge Mark C. Scarsi of the Central District of California is facing serious allegations related to an underage drinking party held at his home. According to a complaint filed in California state court, the party, attended by high school students, allegedly involved substantial underage alcohol consumption and lacked adequate supervision and security.

The plaintiff, identified as Alex Wilson, claims that the environment at the Scarsi residence was unsafe, leading to a violent incident that resulted in his severe injuries. The complaint states that a brutal fight erupted directly in front of the judge’s home, during which Wilson was reportedly attacked and sustained injuries that required hospitalization for over two weeks.

Wilson asserts that the Scarsis did not provide sufficient oversight or security personnel during the event, which contributed to the escalation of violence. He alleges that the absence of proper measures to prevent underage drinking directly led to the circumstances that allowed the fight to occur.

The complaint details Wilson’s injuries, describing them as significant and traumatic, with lasting effects that include prominent facial scarring. He has indicated that he will need reconstructive plastic surgery and has experienced personal and social anxiety as a result of the incident.

Additionally, the complaint lists Wilson’s assailant and that individual’s parents as defendants in the case, alongside the Scarsis. Wilson is seeking unspecified damages for his injuries, which he claims have caused him considerable distress and disruption to his life.
