On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, Fox West Texas reported that Chaile Allen, an Associate Municipal Judge in Abilene, Texas, resigned from her position, citing ethical concerns involving the Abilene Police Department.

The resignation followed an incident during a police raid on August 23 at CBD House of Healing, a business located on the 3600 block of Catclaw Drive, where Allen was representing the owner.

Allen, who also runs a private law practice, stated that she was denied access to her client during the police search, an action she believes violated her client’s constitutional right to legal counsel. She described the decision to resign as difficult but necessary, raising concerns about transparency and due process in the incident.

Allen had been serving as an Associate Municipal Judge since June 2025. She noted that prior attempts to contact the police department on behalf of her client, who had received a notice in July about potential illegal paraphernalia sales, went unanswered.

The Abilene Police Department issued a statement explaining that the August 23 raid was part of an enforcement action targeting businesses that failed to comply with earlier notices. During the operation, officers seized thousands of illegal items and paraphernalia from the CBD House of Healing. No arrests were made, and the investigation remains ongoing. The department did not directly respond to Allen’s allegations regarding the denial of access to her client during the search.

In a public statement shared on Facebook, Allen announced, “Today, I made the decision to resign as Associate Municipal Judge for the City of Abilene, effective immediately.” She emphasized her ongoing commitment to serving her clients and the Abilene community through her private legal practice.
