On Tuesday, September 10, 2024, TribLIVE reported that former district judge Anthony Saveikis, 57, of Coraopolis, is facing DUI charges following a three-vehicle accident in Pittsburgh. The incident occurred at the intersection of Banksville Road and Crane Avenue, where Saveikis allegedly collided with the rear of another vehicle, causing a chain reaction with a third car.

According to online court records, Saveikis was charged with DUI and careless driving. Police described him as unsteady with bloodshot eyes at the scene, and a breath test revealed that his blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit.

In addition to the DUI charges, Saveikis is also facing formal allegations of judicial misconduct. Earlier this year, he resigned amid accusations of unethical behavior involving underage boys, with two of them having appeared before him in court as defendants.

The Pennsylvania Court of Judicial Discipline is currently handling an ongoing case against him, which includes eight counts related to judicial ethics violations, such as bringing disrepute to the judiciary and failing to maintain public confidence in the legal system.

Saveikis’ attorney, Robert Del Greco, confirmed that he is representing Saveikis in the DUI matter and stated that a trial date is expected to be set within the next three months.
