On Friday, May 9, 2025, KUTV2news reported that a former northern Utah judge, Kevin Christensen, charged with child sex crimes, expressed deep remorse and love for his family, according to his attorney, Ryan Bushell.
Christensen, who resigned from his judicial position following his arrest approximately two months ago, faces allegations including two counts of enticing a minor online, dealing in materials harmful to a minor, and attempting sexual exploitation of a minor. Bushell, speaking after a recent court hearing, indicated that a plea deal might be likely, given the severity of the charges.
Investigators claim Christensen had conversations about child sex abuse with Ned Brady Hansen, a former Tremonton Fire Chief, who was dismissed from his role after facing eight counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor. While both individuals are linked through similar charges involving child sexual abuse material, they are not co-defendants.
A defense attorney unaffiliated with either case noted a potential shared interest between the two.
Bushell emphasized his client’s regret in an exclusive interview with 2News, suggesting that a trial might be avoided in favor of a plea agreement to address the accusations.
