On Friday, July 4, 2025, FOX 13 reported that Kevin Christensen, a former Box Elder County judge, entered a not guilty plea to nine child sex charges during a court appearance in Ogden, Utah, on Thursday.
Christensen, who was arrested in March following an FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force investigation, faces three counts of Enticing a Minor, three counts of Attempted Exploitation of a Minor, two counts of Dealing in Material Harmful to a Minor, and one count of Obstruction of Justice. He waived his right to a preliminary hearing during the session.
The investigation revealed evidence suggesting Christensen distributed and received child sexual abuse material online. Authorities recovered a chat from his online account where he allegedly engaged in sexually explicit conversations, believing he was communicating with a 13-year-old girl, and sent a video depicting an adult male performing a sexual act.
Christensen, appointed to the Box Elder County court in May 1996, is also linked to Net Brady Hansen, a former Tremonton Fire Chief arrested on related charges. On Wednesday, Hansen faced an additional charge of Aggravated Sexual Abuse of a Child. The two men allegedly shared child pornography and discussed fantasies of abusing children together. Notably, Christensen had previously allowed Hansen’s release on bail following his initial arrest.
Christensen’s next court appearance is scheduled for August 21, 2025.
