On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, FOX 28 reported that Adam Stone, a former Bucyrus attorney, is seeking release from prison, citing alleged misconduct by a Delaware County judge and an assistant prosecutor.

Stone, who was sentenced last August to over four years in prison for defrauding grieving parents and impersonating a state prosecutor, is requesting judicial release.

Stone’s claim centers on the relationship between Judge James Schuck and the assistant prosecutor. Judge Schuck took a voluntary leave of absence in November following allegations of stalking in a civil suit filed by the prosecutor. While no charges have been filed against Schuck, a special prosecutor is investigating the matter.

According to court documents filed by Stone, Schuck, and the assistant prosecutor allegedly exchanged text messages, sometimes until 3:30 a.m., which included derogatory comments about Stone and his legal counsel. Stone argues that this alleged misconduct compromises the integrity of his conviction and warrants his release from prison.
