An Orange County Superior Court judge in California has been arrested and charged with murdering his wife.
Judge Jeffrey Ferguson, 72, was arrested after police received a 911 call about a shooting at a home in the upscale Anaheim Hills neighborhood.
When police arrived, they found Ferguson’s 65-year-old wife, Sheryl Ferguson, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jeffrey Ferguson was arrested at the home without incident. Police said the investigation is ongoing and they would not release any additional information at this time.
Jeffrey Ferguson has served as an Orange County Superior Court judge since 2015. He was reelected in 2020.
The judge is currently being held on $1 million bail. No motive for the shooting has been released.
