On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, MEAWW reported that Attorney General Pam Bondi publicly mocked a gender discrimination lawsuit filed by Tania Nemer, a former immigration judge, during a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, December 2. Bondi dismissed Nemer’s claims of gender bias, stating, “Last I checked, I was a woman as well,” drawing laughter from attendees.
Nemer’s lawsuit, filed in the US District Court, accuses the Justice Department of wrongful termination and alleges violations of the Civil Rights Act and the First Amendment. Nemer, who also holds dual citizenship with Lebanon, claims she was unjustly fired just 15 days after being sworn in, citing gender, citizenship, and political affiliation as the reasons for her termination. She argues that her termination was part of an unconstitutional purge within the Justice Department.
Bondi, addressing President Trump and other officials, characterized Nemer’s lawsuit as one of many “frivolous” legal challenges against the administration. Nemer’s complaint states that she received the highest possible performance rating before her abrupt dismissal during her probationary period. Her legal team argues that upholding the firing would set a dangerous precedent, allowing the president to terminate federal employees based on race, sex, or religion without consequence.
Nemer’s case is not isolated. Since January, over 100 immigration judges have reportedly been fired or forced out of their positions as the Trump administration seeks to reshape the courts. Coinciding with Nemer’s lawsuit, the Department of Justice terminated eight immigration judges in New York City, including an assistant chief judge at the Federal Plaza court.
Critics, like Muzaffar Chishti of the Migration Policy Institute, argue that these removals of experienced adjudicators will exacerbate the backlog of approximately 3.7 million pending cases. Chishti warned that the mass removals have “eroded trust completely” in the Executive Office for Immigration Review.
Despite the criticisms, Bondi touted the high number of lawsuits against the Trump administration as a badge of honor. She claimed that the administration had faced a staggering 575 lawsuits since taking office, more than every administration since Reagan combined.
Bondi asserted that these lawsuits are attempts to obstruct the president’s agenda, particularly his efforts to combat d*** trafficking and enforce border security. She also highlighted the administration’s aggressive defense strategy, boasting a “92% success rate” in cases appealed to the Supreme Court for emergency intervention.
Bondi concluded by stating the administration is “winning nationwide injunctions, ending DEI funding, [and] working to secure that our federal workforce is aligned with your America First agenda.”
