On Friday, September 26, 2025, Texoma reported that Hardeman County Judge Ronald Ingram will retire after serving 20 years on the bench. Ingram announced he will not seek re-election, marking the end of a significant era for the county. His departure is set for December.

Ingram expressed gratitude to the voters and the people he has worked with throughout his tenure. He stated that it was time for him to step back and pursue other interests, while also acknowledging the rewarding nature of his job.

Hardeman County Sheriff Pat Laughery emphasized Ingram’s substantial impact on the county, particularly in facilitating growth and development. Laughery highlighted Ingram’s involvement in projects such as the establishment of wind generators and attracting industries like LNC to the area, which was crucial for the county’s economic stability.

Ingram reflected on his time as county judge, noting that the experience has contributed to his personal growth. He credited former Judge McNab with making the job appear accessible and expressed confidence in the current department heads, acknowledging their role in the county’s positive trajectory. While refraining from taking sole credit for the county’s success, Ingram recognized his contribution to its progress.

The Ingram family has a long history of public service in Hardeman County, with Judge Ingram’s father having served as mayor and sheriff for a combined 60 years. With Judge Ingram’s retirement, the seat will be open for new leadership to guide the county forward.
