On Wednesday, September 3, 2025, The Hill reported that a trial date has been set for Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan, who faces charges related to obstructing federal immigration agents.

Dugan, who was indicted on two counts in May, is accused of assisting a migrant in evading arrest. The trial is scheduled to begin on December 15, 2025, following jury selection on December 11 and 12.

The charges against Dugan stem from an incident in April, during which she allegedly told immigration agents to go to the chief judge’s office, while facilitating the escape of Mexican national Eduardo Flores-Ruiz through a nonpublic exit. Flores-Ruiz, who was in the U.S. illegally, was apprehended later on.

In light of the arrest, the Wisconsin Supreme Court suspended Dugan from her judicial duties. She has maintained her innocence, asserting that she acted within her official capacity as a judge and has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The trial will take place in a federal district court, overseen by U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman.
