On Friday, September 5, 2025, WAFB reported that the Louisiana Judiciary Commission has recommended the removal of Baton Rouge District Judge Tiffany Foxworth-Roberts from her position. The recommendation stems from accusations of dishonesty regarding her military service and statements made about a burglary during her 2020 campaign.
The central issue revolves around political campaign advertisements, where Foxworth-Roberts was described as a former Captain in the U.S. Army. However, records indicate she left the U.S. Army Reserves with the rank of First Lieutenant.
During a hearing in May, Foxworth-Roberts admitted that her campaign advertisements were misleading in suggesting that she had served in active combat zones like Iraq, Afghanistan, or Desert Storm.
The Judiciary Commission’s Office of Special Counsel (OSC) concluded that Judge Foxworth-Roberts was not only dishonest but also uncooperative with their investigation. The OSC had previously recommended her removal from the bench.
In addition to the discrepancies in her military record, Judge Foxworth-Roberts is accused of making false statements regarding the theft of a $19,000 diamond ring from her vehicle during her 2020 campaign. An anonymous complaint alleged that she filed a false police report and insurance claim related to the incident. The OSC found that the judge attempted to conceal the insurance claim and mislead the OSC about the actual losses she claimed.
While the Judiciary Commission has recommended Judge Foxworth-Roberts’ removal, the final decision rests with the Louisiana State Supreme Court.
Judge Foxworth-Roberts has served on the bench since 2020, handling civil cases in the 19th Judicial District Court.
